Q. My carpets look clean so why
should I clean them ?
A. The simple answer is to do a white towel test. Get a white towel or cloth
and dampen it , rub it in on the carpet and look at what is on the towel. What
you will see is an indication of how dirty it is. But another answer is
to explain about protecting your investment. Paying for new carpets is not cheap
and so you want to get the maximum life out of those carpets by doing your
utmost to protect your outlay. This is easily done by regular cleaning. Dirt
gets brought in to the house on shoes which then falls into the fibres of the
carpet. Regular vacuuming helps but will not take all of it out. The dirt then
in time converts to sand-like particles which will rub against the fibres
causing the carpet to wear and lessen the life of the carpet drastically.
Regular extraction can increase the life of the carpet up to three times longer
than a carpet that is not regularly cleaned. So a relatively small outlay each
year can help you get the most out of your investment.
Q. How long will my carpets take to dry?
A. There are a few factors to consider - the amount of soiling in the carpet,
the length of pile, the weather, and the temperature in the property. Part of a
professional carpet cleaners skill is to clean the carpets as thoroughly as
possible and leave the carpets as dry as possible. However with the latest
equipment and methods we use they should be dry in 1 to 2 hours.
Q. Will my carpet shrink?
A. Some carpets are prone to shrinkage. We can spot this at the time of your
free survey, and can take measures for prevention.
Q. I have heard that carpets
get dirty quicker once they have been cleaned?
A. Choosing the proper cleaning system is important. Some systems and
incorrect application methods may leave residues which accelerates re-soiling
and defeats the whole purpose of cleaning. This is not the case with the
systems and products that we of course use.
Q. How long will it take you to clean my carpets?
A. At the time of your free survey, we can give you an accurate time scale.
Again with the latest equipment we use, we will complete the work as fast as
possible in order that your home or premises will return to normal as soon as
possible.
Q. Will hot water extraction (steam cleaning) damage my carpet?
A. No! Hot water extraction is the method preferred by carpet manufacturers.
It is considered by many to be the best method of removing embedded soil and
other contaminants, and extending the life of the carpet. |
